Lunch

My guys leave me sweet notes like this when I’m about to quit, which is pretty much daily. And it works every time. Which is how I find myself back for another year in this crazy job. I’m trying to work on menus for the first month. Dinners are easy. But I get bored just looking at what I’ve written for the first week of lunches: Tacos, Soup/Sandwich, French Dip…Last year, someone cried out “what’s with all the sandwichy stuff?” so I had them give me a list of lunch ideas. They came back with wraps, hot dogs, sloppy joes…uh, sandwichy stuff. They sympathized a little more after that, but I agreed that it gets dull. Still, when I gave them a week of Chinese Chicken Salad, Baked Potato Bar and the like, they were asking what happened to just regular lunch. Y’know…like sandwiches.
